The UAE Pass App is the UAE’s first national digital identity and signature solution. It allows users—both citizens and residents—to securely identify themselves to various government and private service providers across all seven emirates through smartphone-based authentication.

By simply downloading the UAE Pass App and creating an account, you can enjoy a single digital identity to access thousands of services provided by local, federal, and private entities.

Benefits of Using UAE Pass

  •   Seamless authentication to over 6,000 smart services across the UAE
  •   Digital identification: Prove who you are using your phone
  •   Sign official documents digitally
  •   Verify the authenticity of digitally signed documents
  •   Request and access digital copies of official UAE-issued documents (e.g., Emirates ID, visa, labour card)
  •   Share digital documents with service providers
  •   Update your profile information and address records
  •   UAE Pass Face Recognition (Facial ID)

UAE Pass uses facial recognition technology to verify users’ identities. This biometric feature allows users to create a fully verified account in under five minutes, eliminating the need to visit a government service center. The integration of facial ID adds another layer of security to make UAE Pass a trusted national digital ID for both citizens and residents.

Once registered, you can safely access websites and mobile apps of government and semi-government entities, including Dubai Courts and Ministry of Justice, to access a wide range of services.

How UAE Pass is Linked to Power of Attorney (POA)

In late 2021, Dubai Courts introduced the Smart Electronic Notary (eNotary), a fully digital platform for notarizing documents such as Powers of Attorney, resolutions, and legal / eviction notice. This innovative service allows users to complete the notarization process online without visiting the notary public offices.

To use this electronic service, you must have an active UAE Pass account. This account is required to create a user profile on the Dubai Courts portal, which is necessary for initiating any electronic notarization process.

Who Can Use It?

If you are a UAE National or Resident, whether inside or outside the country, and you want to grant a Power of Attorney to a lawyer, family member, or representative, the Dubai Courts eNotary is a smart, time-saving option.

Steps to Issue a Power of Attorney Using UAE Pass via Dubai Courts Portal

1)     Download and activate your UAE Pass App

2)     Create an account on the Dubai Courts portal

3)     Choose the type of document you want to notarize (e.g., POA)

4)     Select the powers to be granted and enter the parties’ details

5)     Attach the required documents

6)     Digitally sign the document using OTP sent to your registered mobile number

7)     In some cases, a Dubai Courts notary may call your UAE mobile number to verify the request

8)     Once verified and approved, the digitally notarized POA will be emailed to you

If you are unfamiliar with legal drafting or not confident with online procedures, this process can be overwhelming. To ensure everything is done accurately and legally, it’s best to consult with professionals.
