Dubai Courts Launched Smart E-notary Service
The Dubai Government has been taking big and progressive steps to provide government services electronically under the initiate “The Dubai Paperless Strategy”.
In line with the above initiative, Dubai Courts have recently introduced a new smart electronic notarization service, also called as e-notary. The Dubai e-notary through Dubai Courts’ portal allows people to notarize certain documents online from anywhere without going to the notary public offices.
Some of the documents that can be notarized through the e-notary are power of attorney, contracts of different kinds, declarations, signature authentication and some other related documents.
People can either opt for the e-notary services virtually or may still visit the notary offices in person if needed.
The electronically notarized documents will have a special barcode through which the document can be verified.
Currently, the e-notary service is available for UAE residents with valid Emirates ID. The principal needs to have the activated and verified UAE PASS App on his/her mobile. The principal’s UAE mobile number connected to UAE PASS App should be able to receive calls and SMS.
After the application is submitted on the Dubai Courts’ portal, the POA shall be reviewed by the Court’s official and once approved, the principal would receive the POA to his/her email.
It is worth noting that the documents generated through e-notary are all in Arabic and English translation can be done after the document is e-notarized, as opposed to the previous system, in which the documents could be translated prior to the notarization.
POA.ae team can help you issue a Power of Attorney through the new e-notary system and assist with the full e-notarization process.
